Funds You Can Support
Behavioral Health
Behavioral Health is identified as one of Central Montana’s top unmet health needs during the last Community Health Needs Assessment. This fund directly assists the Central Montana Medical Center in its efforts to strengthen and develop opportunities for behavioral health intervention and treatment. Most recently CMMC hired a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to help care for the many Central Montanans who suffer from a behavioral health condition. This fund supports CMMC’s efforts to continue expanding our behavioral health program to meet those in need.
Cancer Center
Cancer will affect each of us in our lifetime through a personal diagnosis or through a friend/loved one being diagnosed. This is a burden by itself, but in Central Montana that burden is much greater as much of the cancer care they need is located out of town, in communities such as Billings or Great Falls. This means a 100+ mile trip, one way each time they need a service. CMMC in partnership with Helmsley Charitable Trust, Billings Clinic, and with support from our regional communities, is looking to overcome this burden by bringing a state-of-the-art Cancer Center to Central Montana. Radiation Oncology will occupy the first floor while Medical Oncology and an Infusion Center will be located on the second floor. This project will provide a high quality and much more convenient option for our loved ones battling cancer.
Cardiac Rehab
The lower level of the hospital houses a 1000 square foot facility that serves the health and wellness of cardiac patients. The space includes wellness machines such as treadmills, weight equipment, ellipticals, and bike machines. Nurses assist patients and oversee their workouts and track their vital signs when needed. Monies are used to purchase the needed wellness equipment that keeps this space safe and running effectively.
Darci’s Gift
In 2016, Lewistown Native Darci (Gillen) Dawson pulled an unresponsive 18-month-old boy (Kaden) from Warm Spring Creek. Due to her CPR training, Kaden was revived and leads a normal life with his family. Darci gives credit to her CPR education, which she first received as a young lifeguard at the Lewistown Pool, as the reason she was able to save Kaden’s life. Darci provided a gift of $5,000 to start this important endowment, with the goal that all monies earned would in turn provide CPR, First Aid and AED training for area students. Monies from this fund support area high school students learning this important life skill and since 2017, 322 students have been trained. All monies given to Darci’s Gift will be placed into the fund’s permanent endowment and all interest earned will support the Darci’s Gift mission.
Emergency Department
This fund was originally established to raise funds for the new Emergency Department addition to CMMC’s campus, which was completed in May of 2015. The new ED space provides a more comfortable waiting room, private treatment rooms, and places the department closer to other services needed during the normal course of treatment, such as lab and radiology. A pull-through ambulance bay was also added to protect patients and crew members from the elements. Through years of ongoing generous donations, this fund now supports the ongoing needs of the Emergency Department and its staff, including new equipment and training.
Friends of First Responders
Friends of the First Responders is a fund that specifically supports the front line, first-to-respond medical workers who need the appropriate equipment and training to complete their job.
General Fund
Monies donated to this fund are used for CMMC projects and purchases addressing the highest need and making the greatest IMPACT. In 2021, the Advisory Board approved $407,000 to be used from this fund to help in the purchase of an MRI Machine. The previous machine was unreliable, and patients were having to wait or be sent out of town periodically for needed services. The General Fund made this new and needed purchase a reality. Give a gift to this fund and be the one to make further impactful purchases for CMMC.
CMMC Education Fund
This fund is a great choice for those who love to support furthering education or lifting others up! Monies from this fund help support medical professionals or persons who support the work at CMMC to gain education, certification, or training in their field.
Home Health
Home Health is a service given by a variety of skilled health care professionals in the homes of clients in Fergus and Judith Basin counties. These services include skilled nursing, physical and occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, certified nurse’s aides, and medical social services. In the year 2021 Home Health served individuals through 3,524 visits. Your gift to this fund carries forward this service to many individuals throughout our communities.
H.O.P.E. (Hand One Person Encouragement)
None of us are immune to devastating, life-changing experiences. The H.O.P.E. Fund is a program to monetarily support CMMC employees in crisis or unforeseen circumstances. The fund has supported employees during various needs: car troubles, during the loss of a loved one, natural disasters, a stressful financial situation. Most commonly this account is funded through employee giving, but all are welcome to contribute. Albert Einstein said it best: “A life lived for others is the only life worth living.” The H.O.P.E. fund is a great example of this in action.
Hospice
Hospice is a program then enables terminally ill persons and their families to achieve the best possible quality of life during their final months and weeks. The Hospice philosophy focuses on comfort management, as well as the emotional, spiritual, and personal support of the patient and their loved ones. Your gift to this fund carries forward this tradition and CMMC Hospice thanks you.
Lab
Performing over 75,000 tests a year, the CMMC laboratory offers testing for screening, diagnosis, and monitoring of numerous disease conditions. The outstanding CMMC phlebotomy team ensures that orders from providers are accurate and complete, correct specimens are drawn and all patient safety protocols are followed. Lab testing is performed by highly trained and nationally certified medical laboratory science professionals. This department is open 24 hours a day, performing tests on inpatients, outpatients and specimens referred from throughout the community. Donations are used for new equipment and staff training. Thank you for your support and continued investment in the laboratory.
Radiology
The Radiology department helps our clinicians diagnose and treat disease using imaging technology such as x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasound. From the exhilaration of hearing the heartbeat of an unborn child to a situation more stressful such as diagnosing chest pain or assessing abdominal obstructions, this department is vital to the health of our community. Your monies donated to this fund will forever help with the purchase of the most advanced imaging technology so when the need arises, the right tools are in place to help CMMC treat you and your family.
Rehabilitation Services Fund
The rehabilitation services department comprises three disciplines – physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy – working together to help patients regain function, independence, and quality of life. Our team provides care across outpatient, in patient, and skilled nursing settings, serving individuals of all ages and with a wide range of rehabilitative needs. We take pride in being a trusted resource for high-quality, compassionate care throughout central Montana.
Our outpatient facility features private exam rooms, a well-equipped therapy gym, and a therapeutic pool unique to our region – all designed to help patients restore movement, rebuild strength, and recover from injury or illness. Our inpatient gym provides the support and resources needed for patients to safely transition back home and into the community.
Funds will allow us to:
- Expand community initiatives such as the stroke support group and fall prevention classes, to promote a healthier community
- Purchase cutting-edge equipment to expand the range of available therapies
- Support staff development through specialized training and certification, ensuring access to the latest evidence-based techniques
Respiratory Therapy
Heart and lung health are at the core of overall wellness, making CMMC’s Respiratory Therapy a vital department of the CMMC organization. Common medical reasons to be at the hospital are cardiopulmonary based illnesses: pneumonia, covid, flu, cardiac disease. This fund supports staff to be trained, equipped, and supplied with the education and tools they need.
Acute Care: Compassion in Every Room Fund
Our Acute Care Department provides compassionate, high-quality inpatient care for patients of all ages with a wide variety of medical and surgical needs. This 25-bed med-surg unit serves individuals who require close monitoring and treatment but are not in critical condition. Each patient is cared for in a comfortable, healing environment designed to support recovery and well-being. Our team of registered nurses and certified nursing assistants work together to provide skilled, patient-centered care. From administering medications and managing wounds to monitoring vital signs and coordinating with physicians and therapy services, every member of our team plays a vital role in helping patients regain strength and independence. Whether a patient is recovering from surgery, managing an acute illness, or transitioning to a skilled nursing stay, our Acute Care team ensures that every step of their journey is supported with compassion, respect, and professionalism. Donations to this fund directly support the needs of our department, ensuring that every aspect of care, from vital equipment to room remodels, reflects the comfort, dignity, and excellence our patients deserve. Support For Nursing Excellence Fund

CMMC Vision 2000
Vision 2000 fund was established in the year 2000 as a permanent endowment with the funds restricted for 25 years, allowing the interest to compound. After the year 2025, only the interest earned can be used to assist with long term needs of the CMMC campus. The principal will remain untouched.

Recurring Gifts
You can select to make a monthly, quarterly or annual recurring gift on your debit or credit card, ensuring your gift keeps on giving.
Tribute Gifts
Gift to CMMC in a meaningful way by remembering or honoring your loved one.
Stock, Bonds, and Mutual Funds
Gifts to CMMC of appreciated securities provide a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the donated asset. You will pay no capital gains tax if you owned them longer than one year.
Bank Accounts and CDs
Name CMMC the beneficiary of your bank account or on CDs. Upon your death, the assets pass to CMMC without going through probate.
Real Estate
This is simpler than you think. If you own property that is not mortgaged, depreciated in value, you can deduct the fair market value of your real estate gift to CMMC and have no capital gains taxes.
Crops and Livestock
This is neat, especially living in rural Montana where agriculture is the mainstream of business. You can transfer ownership of your commodity to CMMC before it is sold and not have taxable income from the sale.
