Welcome to Our Acute Care Unit

At our hospital, the Acute Care Unit is dedicated to providing exceptional care to every patient who walks through our doors. Here’s what you can expect from our team:

  1. Compassionate and Individualized Care: Our nursing staff is committed to providing compassionate, individualized attention to all patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, or testing and observation.
  2. Collaborative Approach: Our nursing services work hand-in-hand with physicians, pharmacists, and a multidisciplinary team of physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapists to ensure each patient receives quality care tailored to their needs.
  3. Preoperative and Postoperative Excellence: For patients undergoing various surgeries, including abdominal (appendectomy, cholecystectomy), orthopedic (total hip and knee replacements, rotator cuff repairs), or others like hysterectomy, colon surgery, and hernia surgery, our unit offers expert preoperative and postoperative nursing care.
  4. Accommodating Patients of All Ages: From pediatric to geriatric patients, our unit is equipped to accommodate individuals of all ages. We provide semi-private and private rooms, including a dedicated space for children, ensuring comfort and specialized attention.
  5. Family-Centered Care: We understand the importance of family support in the healing process. We ask visitors to respect the privacy of other patients during their visits.
  6. Special Accommodations for Families: Certain situations may call for family members to stay with their loved ones. For instance, we encourage parents to stay with their child patients at all times. We provide comfortable accommodations, including recliners or beds, and allow family to order meals from our kitchen.
  7. Isolation Protocols: In cases where patients require isolation, specific instructions will be provided to visitors to ensure the safety and well-being of both patients and visitors.
  8. Transition of Care Rounding: Our team conducts Transition of Care Rounding Monday through Friday from 10:30-11:30 am.  This collaborative effort involves nurses, therapies, dietary staff, discharge planners, pharmacists, and care coordinators. By addressing patient needs comprehensively and proactively, we strive to optimize outcomes and enhance patient care.

Our Acute Care Unit is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team. We’re here for you every step of the way.
